Privacy policy
1. Who we are
Audioguide Everything is run by Titouan Mesot, Switzerland ("we"), who is responsible for your data. More details are in the legal notice.
We follow Swiss data protection law (FADP) and, for people in the European Union, the GDPR. For any question about your data, write to info@audioguideeverything.com.
2. What we use, why, and for how long
You don't need to sign up. The first time you open the app, it creates an anonymous account: a random ID, shown in Settings as your support ID. Everything below is linked to it.
| Data | Why | Legal basis | Kept for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Your anonymous account | Counts your free guides and links your subscription | Providing the app | Until you delete your account |
| Your email, only if you subscribe | Signs you in with a code, so you keep your subscription on a new phone. Also lets us help with billing and reply to you | Providing the app | Until you delete your account |
| Your precise location | Finds the places around you. Read once per guide, only while the app is open | Providing the app | Not stored |
| A photo, in "Explain a photo" | Describes the photo you take or pick. Sent with where it was taken, if known | Providing the app | Not stored |
| Your guides and questions | Let you ask follow-up questions, listen to a guide and rate it. Includes the place data the guide is written from | Providing the app | 24 hours |
| Your ratings and comments | Help us improve the guides | Our legitimate interest | Until you delete your account |
| A copy of a guide you rate, only if you tick the box | Helps us find and fix a problem. The box is unticked by default, and the photo is never included | Your consent | 12 months, or until you withdraw it |
| Usage records | Apply the free limit, stop abuse and keep costs down. They hold the type of request, the AI model, its cost, the result and the time; no location, photo or text | Our legitimate interest | 12 months, also after you delete your account, with nothing linking them to you |
| Your subscription status | Gives you access. Says which plan, whether it's active and when it ends | Providing the app | Until you delete your account |
| Technical logs at our host | Help us fix errors | Our legitimate interest | A few days |
| Error reports | Help us fix crashes and errors. They hold the error, your phone's model and system version, the app version, a random ID for this installation of the app, and the steps just before; no location, photo, text, email or account ID | Our legitimate interest | 30 days |
Your phone asks before the app can use your location, camera or photos, and you can turn this off at any time in your phone's settings. Without location, the app can't write guides.
Payments go through Apple or Google; we never see your card. We make no automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
3. Who we share it with
| Provider | What for | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Runs our server, database and sign-in | EU (Ireland) |
| OpenRouter, and the AI providers it connects to | Write the guides, answers and narration | USA and other countries |
| OpenStreetMap (Overpass API), Wikimedia Foundation | Find nearby places and Wikipedia articles. They only get coordinates | EU, USA |
| Resend | Sends the sign-in code, and keeps a record of it for 30 days | USA |
| RevenueCat | Manages subscriptions | USA |
| Apple, Google | App stores and payments, under their own privacy policies | — |
| Cloudflare | Hosts this website and counts its visits | USA |
| Sentry | Receives error reports from the app and our server | EU (Germany) |
The AI providers get the place data, your photo and your questions, but never your account, name or email. We only use providers that don't train their AI on your data. They may keep a request, photo included, for a limited time to detect abuse (currently up to 55 days).
When data goes to the USA, it is protected by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework if the provider is certified, and otherwise by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
We never sell your data, use it for ads or track you across other apps and websites. We only hand over data when the law requires it.
4. Your rights
You can ask to see your data and get a copy, correct it, delete it, limit how we use it or object to it. You can withdraw your consent at any time.
- To delete your account, go to Settings → Delete account in the app. This deletes everything linked to your account on our side. Usage records stay, with nothing linking them to you, and the free guides you used this month stay counted on your phone. It doesn't cancel your subscription: do that in your Apple or Google account.
- For anything else, write to info@audioguideeverything.com with your support ID. We reply within a month, and may ask you a question to make sure the data is yours.
If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to a data protection authority, for example in the country where you live or work. In Switzerland, that's the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
5. Children
The app is not meant for children under 16. If you think a child has used it, tell us and we will delete their data.
6. This website
This website uses no cookies and loads everything from Cloudflare, which hosts it. Cloudflare needs your IP address to send you the pages.
We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics. It records the page you visit, the page you came from, your browser, device type and country, and how fast the page loaded. It stores nothing on your device and doesn't follow you to other websites. We only see totals, kept for 6 months, to learn how people find the site and whether it loads well (our legitimate interest).
7. Changes
If we change this policy, we update the date at the top and list the change below. Before an important change takes effect, we tell you in the app.
History
- 31 October 2026: deleting your account keeps usage records with nothing linking them to you, and this month's used free guides stay counted.
- 30 October 2026: first version.
